Rush University Children's Hospital in downtown Chicago, IL is recruiting a part-time Academic Pediatric Hospitalist to join its growing Section of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. We are looking for applicants committed to providing exceptional inpatient care to a diverse and complex population of patients. Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience or completing fellowship. This opportunity will involve extensive teaching responsibilities with our outstanding Pediatric Residency, Combined Medicine/Pediatrics Residency and Rush Medical College programs. Hospitalists will be expected to provide leadership in scholarly initiatives within the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
Ideal candidates will have experience in areas including: quality improvement, clinical research, medical education research and medical simulation. Members of our team provide inpatient care on a 20-bed General Pediatric Unit.. Pediatric Hospitalists work alongside multiple sub-specialty groups, including pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, urology, cranio-facial surgery, anesthesia/pain, psychiatry, hematology-oncology, infectious diseases, pulmonology, sleep medicine, nephrology, endocrinology, cardiology and neurology.
Candidates must be Board Certified/Eligible in Pediatrics and may have fellowship training in Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Candidates with a pediatric residency or med/peds will be considered. Candidates will be eligible for a faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level, commensurate with their experience and accomplishments
