The Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at the Rollins School of Public Health ( https://www.sph.emory.edu/departments/bios/index.html ) at Emory University is recruiting one research track faculty member to collaborate on multidisciplinary studies at Emory Brain Health Center ( https://www.emoryhealthcare.org/centers-programs/brain-health-center/index.html ). The primary academic appointment will be in the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, and rank (assistant, or associate research professor) will be commensurate with experience. Responsibilities associated with this position include collaborative research, teaching, and mentoring graduate students, trainees and fellows.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A PhD degree in statistics, biostatistics, or a related field; strong record of or high potential for scientific collaborative research and graduate level teaching; excellent oral and written communication skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in the design, conduct, analysis and reporting of results in multidisciplinary collaborative studies. Experience in brain health studies is preferred.
The department includes 35 primary faculty members currently supported by a wide range of external funding, as Principal Investigators, Core Directors, and Co-investigators. Faculty engage in diverse methodological research areas with specific motivation from an equally broad array of public health focus areas, including Alzheimers disease, infectious diseases, cancer, cardiovascular and renal disease, epidemiological surveillance, and environmental and mental health. The department participates in the Georgia Clinical and Translational Science Alliance, serves as the Data Coordinating Center for several NIH clinical trials, and operates the Biostatistics Collaborative Core. The department offers a doctoral graduate program in Biostatistics from the Laney Graduate School of Arts and Science and masters degree programs in Biostatistics from the Rollins School of Public Health. A concentration in bioinformatics, imaging, and genetics (BIG) is available at the doctoral level.
