Loyola University Health Systems' Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a candidate with Ph.D., M.D. (or M.D. equivalent), or M.D./Ph.D. for a Clinical Pathology faculty position as Director of the ASHI-accredited Histocompatibility Laboratory located in Maywood, Illinois.

The Loyola Medicine Transplant Center offers heart, lung, kidney, liver, pancreas, bone marrow and stem cell transplants, as well as multi-organ transplants. Interested candidates should meet ASHI requirements for the medical directorship and have an experience in solid organ and bone marrow transplantation.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory houses the Regional Laboratory for Loyola University Health System, responsible for Clinical Pathology services at multiple locations in the region (Loyola University Medical Center, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, and MacNeal Hospital). Ample opportunities for clinical/translational research and multidisciplinary collaboration with investigators of the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center and faculty in the Center for Translational Research and Education (CTRE) are available on campus.

Successful candidates are expected to actively participate in the department UME medical education, and GME pathology education programs including our AP/CP residency. Experience in an academic multi-disciplinary university clinical setting is preferred. The department has a track-record of excellent mentorship and sponsorship for faculty.

Faculty of the Loyola University Health System are eligible for academic appointments at the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. The appointment will be at the level of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor level commensurate with experience and achievements.
