Catholic Health is seeking a President for St. Catherine of Siena Hospital located in Smithtown, New York. Reporting to the System Chief Operating Officer, Catholic Health, the President will provide strategic leadership that the organization needs to ensure its ongoing growth and success which contributes to the overall success of Catholic Health. The Position:
The President will have overall operational responsibility and oversight of St. Catherine of Siena Hospital and will lead by example, setting clear strategies and performance expectations in an environment of participation and collaboration with senior management, physicians, community stakeholders and the board of trustees. The President will be charged with integrating the mission and ministry throughout the hospital by developing practices that bring life to their mission in all hospital affairs and by designing initiatives that promote and sustain spirituality at work.
The Ideal Candidate:
Advanced degree in business administration, public health, healthcare administration or related field.
Minimum of ten years of progressive experience in hospital or healthcare management within a highly complex and competitive environment is required.
Current or prior President experience leading a hospital highly desired.
Must have the ability to successfully navigate a complex, multi-hospital integrated healthcare delivery system.
Displays strong business acumen, a sophisticated knowledge of healthcare funding, and experience in competitive marketplaces with the ability to make complex and difficult decisions.
Demonstrates excellent leadership skills; has a calm, confident, visible, and empowering leadership style.
An energetic leader who is able to build trusting, collaborative, and effective relationships with key stakeholders.
Strong reputation for effective physician relations and a demonstrated history of developing teams to achieve desired business results.
Ability to encourage feedback and collaboration with staff to promote a high standard of patient care, cost effective delivery of services and a team-oriented culture.
