VA Northern California Health Care System is looking for a full-time Nephrologist to join our VA team providing nephrology and dialysis unit services for Veteran and Department of Defense (DoD) beneficiaries at the David Grant USAF Medical Center (DGMC), Travis AFB, CA. The position encompasses the breadth of clinical care, including on-call inpatient consultation, outpatient clinic and outpatient dialysis rounding. Teaching is an integral part of our mission. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Direct patient care in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Provide diagnosis and treatment of diseases to adult patients presenting with illnesses and injuries relating to kidney conditions that are applicable to his/her practice, training, experience, or current competence.
Perform minor procedures per credentialing and privileging approvals.
Proficiency in peritoneal dialysis and teaching experience required
Order routine diagnostic imaging studies and labs.
Participate actively in performance improvement and attend assigned meetings or process action teams. Work collaboratively with other specialties.

Candidates must: 1) US Citizen or PRA, 2) Trained in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, 3) Have a full, unrestricted medical license in any State, and 4) confirm vaccination for seasonal influenza and Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) which are both requirements for all Health Care Personnel (HCP) employed by Department of Veterans Affairs. Preferred experience: Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology
