Memorial Transplant Institute at Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a dynamic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its team in a per diem capacity. The selected candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of exceptional providers to guide patients and families through every facet of transplant care. The incumbent will focus on transplant nephrology related inpatient and outpatient services, including evaluation of kidney and living donor candidates and follow-up care for transplant recipients. The ideal candidate will have at least five (5) years of clinical experience practicing in a kidney transplant setting. Candidates must have a national Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification, or Physician Assistant Certification. A BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross and a Florida license must be obtained by date of hire.
Schedule requirements include at least one weekend per month with holiday coverage, as needed. This is a staff relief position that offers professional malpractice and medical liability covered under sovereign immunity.

Memorial Transplant Institute is the only center in Broward County to offer kidney transplants to both adults and children. In 2017, with federal approval from UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing), Memorial Transplant Institute launched the adult kidney transplant program with pediatric transplant capabilities at Memorial Regional Hospital and Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, FL. The Institute established a living donor kidney recovery component, including open and laparoscopic nephrectomies. The program offers cadaveric and living donor kidney transplants.
